I lost another friend to politics

So, my friend Marci Thiery totally blocked me on social media today, and honestly, I wasn’t expecting that at all. She’s always sharing these super negative and rude posts about the Republican Party and Donald Trump, just going off about how much she hates anything that doesn’t match her views. It feels like everyone’s got an opinion these days, but me? Not so much, I guess. When I tried to share my thoughts on Trump and the Republicans, she clearly wasn’t having it. Her posts really push this idea that Republicans are the worst, comparing them to Nazis, claiming they’re out to take our rights, and saying they’re just a bunch of liars. I tried to hit her back with some facts, reminding her that Democrats have messed up too over the years. But, like a classic Karen, she just didn’t want to have a real chat; she opted to block me without a second thought. It’s a bummer because it feels like there are no real conversations left anymore. What’s really sad is that Marci used to be the kindest, most fun-loving person I’d ever met. She could always light up a room with joy and laughter. Then somewhere down the line, politics messed with her vibe, and now she just spreads so much hate online. It’s such a stark difference from the friend I once knew, and I can’t shake this feeling of loss for our friendship that just seems to have disappeared.
