the lost art of a good conversation

I’m trying to figure out what happened to a good conversation. It is so hard to have a meaningful dialogue with somebody these days. Intelligence in a conversation seems to be fading away, as now it is all name-calling, bad remarks, insults, and shallow exchanges that lack depth. There’s no fact-based discussion in a good conversation anymore, as people often resort to emotional replies rather than rational arguments. Honestly, the best conversation I’ve had in a very long time was with a friend of mine, where we passionately debated about who was the best Spider-Man. It may seem trivial at first, but diving into the various portrayals of Spider-Man allowed us to explore deeper themes of heroism and personal struggles. It was sad to realize how rare such meaningful exchanges have become, but in all, it was a great experience discussing facts and our differing opinions in a respectful manner, reminding me of the power of real conversation.
